Welcome to the Hunter Regional Band Association

The Hunter Regional Band Association is a Branch of the Band Association of New South Wales. It is a non-profit Association that has both Brass Bands and Concert Band as its members. Most of the Bands are Community Bands, but several School Bands are also members of the Association. The Committee is elected from registered delegates of member bands. There are seventeen member bands in a region from Muswellbrook to Newcastle and Lake Macquarie to Woy Woy.

Why are we here?

The Association exists to benefit member bands by:

  • Staging Annual Competitions for Brass and Concert bands
  • Staging Annual Soloist and Ensemble Competitions
  • Staging an Annual Marching Competition held in conjunction with the Mattara Festival Parade.
  • Arranging non-competitive band events for the community entertainment, free of charge, such as: Bands In The Park.
  • Providing Courses of Instruction relevant to the needs of bands, such as Drum Majors Courses.
  • Securing engagements for bands when the opportunity arises.
