Entries are now open for the 2020 HRBA Solos and Ensembles Competition!
This is a long running competition targeted at wind, brass and percussion musicians which has supported the personal development of many individuals across the state. We hope you will join this supportive and enjoyable event this year.
The COVID-19 scenario in NSW is regularly evolving making predictions of the future very difficult. While at the current point in time this style of event could not be run, it is important to think of the future. Were restrictions to have eased allowing larger gathering at the time of this competition we think it would be a shame for it to have not gone ahead. We will be following the advice of state and federal health officials as they develop as the safety of contestants, officials, the audience and the general public is important to us. We will keep you informed on how changes in guidelines affect this event.
You will notice that we are trialling a major change to how registrations are made as well as the cost structure. This year we request that registrations are done on a household basis as there will be a sliding scale for multiple entries. We understand that many bands cover the entry fees of their contestants and that this may make the process more confusing for them. However, we believe this will encourage more participation. Particularly important at the current time period this change will greatly reduce the costs for large family groups. We stress that this is a trial and we welcome any feedback you have on this change. See page five of the Information and Rules document for details on the change.
Entries for the event close on Friday the 17rd of July 2020. See below for detailed information about rules and entry.
